President and CEO, Mississauga Board of Trade
David and Rachel
As the President and CEO of the Mississauga Board of Trade, David is a seasoned business professional and entrepreneur with 40 years’ experience. His first business, where he was a disc jockey, was launched in his teens! Previously, David was the CEO of EKNA Production House, the executive producer and host of BiZ TV Canada, a business show streamed daily on Financial Post Entrepreneur and that broadcast to Global and CBC affiliate stations. Additionally, David was the former host and community producer of Rogers TV IN-BUSINESS, a cable television show that produced 220 episodes and featured over 1,200 guests.
After having been invited to join Dancing with Mississauga Stars, David revealed that his mother was a dance instructor who taught him the basics at the age of seven! Although he didn’t see the benefits as a child, David realized in his 20’s, that knowing how cha-cha, polka, tango and jive made him very popular at weddings – much to the chagrin of his friends!
Although it has been a while since David danced, his apprehensions and fear of forgetting his steps have been assuaged by his partner Rachel and channeling Ricky Martin’s great moves. His team of cheerleaders including his wife Joanne and daughters Aaren and Kayla are also behind him 100%!
David notes, “There’s a great personal sense of satisfaction to be able to help community organizations that can then give back to our city.”
David’s dance instructor is Rachel.
With a theatre background Rachel Clarke-Sagos choreographed her first musical when she was only fifteen. Her knowledge in diverse styles of dance has earned her the status of ‘go to’ for most dance questions. Born to be on a stage, she loves to perform and choreograph and has found the perfect home at Arthur Murray Mississauga.
